Before a session
Open your live service from this page (YouTube TV, for example) and log in yourself, on the service's own page. SAL never sees or stores a password. Put a channel on in each tab you want SAL to use, then click the SAL icon in the toolbar on that tab: the icon shows ON and the tab is armed. SAL cannot arm a tab by itself; the browser needs that click. Press Start; the window goes full screen and SAL changes the channel for you.
Your channels
SAL learns the id of every channel you watch, on its own. Learn my channels, on the start screen, visits every channel in your service's Live guide once, three tabs at a time (about 5 minutes for a hundred channels; it clicks only channel rows). Use Learn again when your package changes. A game whose channel has no id yet is listed as "No id"; a tab that landed on the wrong channel is flagged "Wrong channel". Either way the fix is the same: put the right channel on in that tab yourself. SAL sees it and corrects its map at once.
Keys
Alt+Shift+P Pause or resume switching
Alt+B Mark the last cut as a bad cut
Alt+R Report a problem: save a small file about what went wrong
Alt+L Lock the game on air (Alt+1 to 3: the game numbered 1 to 3 here and on the bar, when it is on a tab)
Alt+Shift+L Open the lobby over the game, or go back to the game
Escape In the lobby while SAL runs: back to the game
The keys also work on the picture in full screen. The bar at the top of the picture (move the mouse) has Pause, Bad cut, Report and the SAL wordmark, which opens this page; the game keeps playing behind it.
Captions
SAL turns captions on in its own tabs and hides them; it reads the words as one more hint about breaks. If a tab says "captions unavailable", nothing is wrong with the picture: SAL just has one hint fewer on that tab.
